Lead SW Engineer

Summary

The Software Engineering Lead will contribute to design sessions, perform coding and code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, ensure quality deliverables/releases and will adhere to the established SDLC guidelines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Accustomed to serving as an engineer in a constantly changing, dynamic environment and dedicated to the highest standards in software.

  • Gathers, verifies, and educates others on technical requirements

  • Develops technical designs for self and others as required

  • Reviews and approves technical designs

  • Defines and implements best practices for architectural direction for technical designs

  • Gathers, verifies, and educates others on technical requirements

  • Develops technical designs for self and others as required

  • Gathers, verifies, and educates others on technical requirements

  • Provides guidance and training to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations.

  • Works on multiple projects concurrently.

  • Establishes on-time and on-budget project goals.

  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and may make project assignments.

  • Acts a primary technical liaison for team to resolve team related issues

  • Provides technical testing evaluation estimates on various projects.

  • Works directly with the peer functional leadership and business owners.

  • On occasion, addresses small groups on technical subjects or demonstrates systems.

  • Leads informational discussions with internal and external groups.

  • May be responsible for people managing individual contributors

  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience 

  • 9 years of software development experience

  • SME on product and business knowledge

  • Familiar with most tiers of code within product stack

  • SME with two or more tiers of code

  • Able to lead team implementation of new features spanning n-tiers of code with minimal supervision

  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile scrum development process

  • Participates in all Agile scrum ceremonies

  • Leads team to improving processes and tools that relate to the team’s execution and overall productivity

  • Lead development and establishment of best practices
